Taiwan Creative Expo Highlight 2|”FREES: The Freedom of Design” featuring Construction Scaffolding as the Performance Stage!

The transformation of the scaffolding used in the restoration project of the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park into the technological art interactive performance installation “Working in Progress X Scaffolding GPU” is a collaboration between curator Feng Chien-Chang (Chinese translation) and FREES: The Freedom of Design. The concept behind this installation is to use the scaffolding as the foundational structure that supports the future evolution of technology art, much like a GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) supports the core of AI computation. The installation blends the imagery of a construction site scaffolding with projection and lighting equipment, turning it into a massive computational GPU that can engage in a dialogue with the future cosmos.

During the event, “Working in Progress X Scaffolding GPU” will be part of the “Roaming Theater – Illuminating Songshan” program curated by FOCA Taiwan Circus, with lighting installation design by Japanese artist Kyota Takahashi. The theme of this project revolves around the public nature of the venue, experimenting with various forms of light and imagery to transform the space.

You can check out for more details of this event on “Working in Progress X Scaffolding GPU” official website.

Taiwan Creative Expo Highlight 3|”Railway Museum Mini Unboxing! First Look at the Blue Livery Cultural Exhibition Train!”

The Blue Livery Cultural Exhibition Train is a response from the Railway Museum to artistic and cultural endeavors. The west entrance, which connects to the Songshan Cultural and Creative Park exhibition axis, is open throughout the exhibition season. The preserved Blue Livery Diesel Passenger Car DR2303 is available for public use to go to the Railway Museum, and from September 9 to September 17, the Blue Livery Cultural Exhibition Train will run on the Yilan Line. In the movie “The Days We Stared at the Sun,” the character Lü Xiaofen (Chinese translation) traveled the same train back to her village of Yilan, and the song “Diudiu Tongsai” depicts this as a national collective memory when the diesel train passes.

The National Railway Museum Preparatory Office, guided by the concept of “Railway Museum · New Birth,” has planned four main exhibition areas: “Forge Workshop,” “Passenger Car Workshop,” “General Office,” and “Bathhouse.” These areas introduce Taiwan’s local railway culture and, through the “Mini Unboxing” approach, allow the public to experience the charm of heritage spaces combined with railway elements. Through the interpretation of thematic exhibitions, the aim is to attract more people to become railway enthusiasts.
